Ride de Vuelta
Who we are and what we do
Ride de Vuelta
RDV
Ride de Vuelta began in 2014 as an adventure tour company providing snowboard, surf, stand up paddle board, horseback riding and fly fishing tours. As of 2016, RDV decided to focus specifically on wine tours in the Central Valley of Chile and received remarkable reviews and earned one of the top spots in TripAdivsor.
In 2020 the pandemic put our business on hold and we reinvented ourselves by focusing on regenerative agriculture. The owners Mick and Carolina, found a place in Paine 45 minutes south of Santiago and started a one hectare regenerative market garden farm called Campo Petrichor.
2024 we are still in Paine but have moved to a new place of our own, two hectares that include an abundant amount of different types of fruit trees such as oranges, mandarins, nectarines, apricots, loquats, plums, peaches, apples, pears, lemons, grapes, etc. and one hectare of Cabernet Sauvignon. We just started a very small boutique production of Cabernet Sauvignon.
WHAT WE DO
We now provide our Regenerative Farm and Sommelier Wine Tour. This include pick up and drop off at the Paine train station at 9:00 am which is about ten minutes from our location. Mick your guide is a certified second level sommelier, wine maker and professional farmer will show you in detail all the processes of being a regenerative agriculture and market garden including how to seed and harvest. In fact, the harvest will be part of your lunch that is included in the tour. During lunch, you will be provided with a few wine tastings of our very limited production from different places in the vineyard and different wine making styles. You will also meet our famous pig ¨Pepa¨ and our chickens.
Afterwards, we will take you to our good friends vineyard Antiyal which about a twenty minute drive from us. There you will be provided with a wine tasting on the roof of the wine cellar and one in the middle of the vineyard where you listen to a device that is able to produce music from the grapevine itself. You will also experience in detail everything their is to know about organic and biodynamic farming. Antiyal is a boutique family vineyard and is certified organic and biodynamic vineyard. You will then be dropped off at the Paine train station at approximately 3:00 pm.
